Pencegahan perundungan di lingkungan pondok pesantren melalui pendidikan karakter

Bullying is one of the serious problems that requires greater attention, especially in educational environments, including Islamic boarding schools. The intense social interactions that occur among students for twenty-four hours a day can foster positive social relationships, but they also have the potential to create conflicts and bullying behaviors. Bullying may take various forms, including physical bullying, verbal bullying, social bullying, cyberbullying, and psychological bullying, all of which can negatively affect the emotional, social, and developmental conditions of students. Therefore, efforts to prevent bullying are necessary in order to create an Islamic boarding school environment that is safe, comfortable, and supportive of students’ development. One strategy that can be implemented is character education.This study aims to discuss the role of character education as an effort to prevent bullying in Islamic boarding school environments. Character education is considered to have a significant role in shaping positive student behavior through the cultivation of religious values, tolerance, and the exemplary conduct of caregivers, teachers, and boarding school administrators. In addition, character education can be implemented through habituation and strengthening positive social culture within the Islamic boarding school environment. Thus, character education can become one of the efforts to prevent bullying and create a safe and comfortable Islamic boarding school environment.Downloads
