Globalization has significantly influenced the formation of cultural identity, particularly among Generation Z who grew up in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of Generation Z’s cultural identity amid globalization from a sociological perspective. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literature review approach. Data were collected from various academic sources such as books, journals, and articles related to globalization, culture, and youth studies. The findings indicate that globalization does not completely erase local culture, but instead creates a hybrid identity that combines local and global elements. Generation Z acts as a new cultural agent that actively negotiates traditional values with modern culture through digital media and virtual social interactions. On the other hand, globalization also presents challenges in the form of shifting social values and weakening awareness of local culture. Therefore, strengthening cultural literacy and character education is necessary so that Generation Z can maintain national identity amid dynamic global changes.Downloads
