In the developing contemporary era, Arabic literature still plays an important role in the formation of contemporary cultural order, especially in Indonesia. Classical Arabic literature opened a window on the development of contemporary Indonesian culture. The purpose of writing this article is to examine more deeply how the elements contained in classical Arabic literature affect contemporary Indonesian culture. The método used in writing this article is conceptual. Where the author involves an in-depth analysis and discussion of concepts related to classical Arabic literature and the development of contemporary Indonesian culture. So influential classical Arabic literature on culture in the world, classical Arabic literature entered and developed in Indonesia along with the entry of Islam into Indonesia in various forms. The relevance of classical Arabic literature to contemporary Indonesian culture is increasingly grammatic, including in the form of poetry, musiK and language. Which classical Arabic nastr and sha'ir dominate in influencing contemporary Indonesian culture.
