A sakinah family and a lasting household is the dream of every person who runs a household, including couples with disabilities and non-disabled people. But in fact, marriage to a disabled person actually has a strong influence on marital stability and increases the risk of conflict and divorce. This study uses qualitative methods by collecting various sources and related theories. In terms of the problems studied, efforts and strategies are needed to maintain relationships in order to ensure the sustainability of a sakinah household for disabled and non-disabled persons. The phenomenon of the strategy of maintaining marital relations between couples with disabilities and non-disabled persons is influenced by the balance between sacrifice and reward as well as efforts to maintain the relationship itself. If the couple is able to overcome these two elements, the marriage can be maintained and harmonious for a long time.
