Sebuah penelitian mengatakan bahwa islam Nusantara itu berbeda dan menyebut bahwa islam Nusantara adalah bentuk dari ciri sinkretisme, dan banyak para peneliti Indonesia menyinggung tentang masalah ini. Maka disini penulis merasa perlu mengangkat kembali permasalahan ini agar pembaca bisa paham dengan perjalanan masuknya islam ke Nusantrara dan bagaiman bentuk dari sinkretisme di dalam masyarakat islam nusantara.
