Pendekatan STEAM pada pembelajaran Abad-21 di SD/MI
Abstract
Education is currently faced with new challenges, namely the 21st century era. In this era students are required to have 4C skills, namely critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. In addition to the demands of skills that must be possessed by students, the use of technology in current learning must also be maximized. This is important to prepare students to face the challenges of an increasingly advanced era. To face these challenges teachers can create learning in accordance with the 21st century era. This can be realized by using an appropriate learning approach, namely using the STEAM learning approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Methematic.) The STEAM approach can train students to be able to face demands era. The method used in this research is library research, namely by collecting data from journals and research related to the research topic. This study aims to determine the relationship between the STEAM approach in learning to achieve the demands of 21st century education in elementary schools. The STEAM approach is a contextual learning approach. Several previous studies related to STEAM have been tested to be effective in developing the skills of 21st century students. From the results of the literature studies that have been carried out, it has been proven that there is an increase in students' critical and creative thinking skills as well as being able to develop students' collaboration and communication skills.
