Proses islamisasi Myanmar
Studi pada Etnis Rohingya
Abstract
Myanmar is a country in Southeast Asia that has a Muslim religious minority. In the process of spreading Islam in Myanmar, it has a different history, especially related to the early arrival of Islam. Therefore, the purpose of this writing is to find out about the process of Islamization in Myanmar, understand some Muslim groups during Islamization in Myanmar, and find out more deeply about the Rohingya ethnic group as an ethnic minority. The method used is descriptive analysis through library research with credible secondary sources such as books, articles. The results of this study indicate that the process of Islamization in Myanmar began when groups of Muslim people arrived at the procession and spread Islam through trade, marriage and other means. Apart from that, in the process it was divided into four groups of propagators of Islam, one of which was the Rohingya group, which has a long history that is still unacceptable to the Myanmar government. Therefore there are several strategies to overcome this.
