Abstract

One of the biggest contributors to wealth in this country is mineral potential, minerals themselves are classified into two, namely metallic minerals and non-metallic minerals. This article will focus on geological and stratigraphic maps to make it easier to understand their distribution with geography. From the available maps, you can also be aware of natural disasters that might come. Because every natural potential that is utilized by humans will definitely have an impact, whether it's the result of mining carried out or dredging rocks in certain places that exceed the limits of natural resource utilization. From the geological maps and stratigraphic maps that have been presented, it can be concluded that the distribution of rocks containing minerals. The minerals presented include iron ore, gold, copper, iron sand, lead, manganese, and mercury. These minerals are scattered throughout the West Sumatra region. In addition, from the two maps presented, namely the geological map and the stratigraphic map, it can also provide information on areas that have mineral potential, on the other hand, have hazards that must be watched out for. Because the area is prone to disasters as a result of mining or dredging existing natural resources.
