Adat merariq masyarakat Lombok dalam perspektif hukum Islam
Abstract
Merariq is a Lombok tradition that has existed since the Dutch colonization. Merariq was done to preserve the culture brought by the Lombok ancestors. Besides, Merariq is also the occasion for men to show their virtue. This research uses a qualitative methods with a systematic approach, i.e. analysis of journal articles and other literature. The results of this study show that in the Merariq tradition there are several processions to be performed by both prospective brides, i.e. midang, merariq/ memaling, besebok, besejati, selabar, sorong serah, bait wali, ngawinang, and nyongkolan. The processes carried out are characteristic of the traditions of the Lombok community that distinguish it from the tradities of other regions. As seen through the lens of Islamic law, the merariq tradition is already in accordance with the law in force. Therefore, the legal status of marriage with the merariq tradition remains valid as long as the marriage certificate remains qualified and the rucun that is ordained by Islam.
