Abstract

The background to this study is the importance of strengthening character education in the face of various social challenges and the low level of consistency in the implementation of character values in the school environment. The daily routine of activities is considered an effective strategy because it can instil values through structured and contextualised repetition. The aim of this study is to analyse in depth the daily routine activities from Monday to Friday in forming the character of students at SMPN 28 Malang. The study used a qualitative descriptive method and the data collection technique involved observation over one week, interviews with school staff and documentation of school activities. The results of this study show that the activities carried out consistently every morning, such as the flag ceremony, class teacher guidance, literacy activities, religious activities, and group prayer, contribute to the formation of pupils' characters, making them religious, disciplined, responsible, and socially aware. The discussion reveals that the success of the routine is not only influenced by the activities themselves, but also by the support system, such as the rules and regulations, student involvement, organisational collaboration, and humanist school leadership. In conclusion, the daily routine of structured and continuous activities can be an effective model for strengthening character education based on school culture.
