Pengaruh Rutinitas Membaca Al-Qur`an terhadap Kesehatan Mental
Abstract
Mental health disorders such as stress, anxiety, and depression represent significant challenges faced by many individuals in today’s modern era. These issues call for solutions that extend beyond medical interventions, incorporating spiritual approaches as complementary support. One such approach believed to have a positive impact is the regular recitation of the Quran. This study aims to explore how the habit of Quranic reading contributes to an individual's mental stability. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of previous research findings, it was found that regular Quran reading produces profound psychological relaxation and inner peace. As a spiritual activity, Quran recitation not only serves as a form of worship but also provides substantial psychological benefits, including calming the mind, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression, and enhancing emotional well-being. Furthermore, this activity triggers positive physiological responses, such as lowering blood pressure, increasing the production of happiness-related hormones, and strengthening the nervous system. Thus, regular Quran reading can be considered a simple, safe, and cost-effective non-medical therapeutic method for maintaining mental health. This research emphasizes Quran recitation as a primary practice for achieving emotional balance and psychological tranquility in daily life. Future studies are recommended to employ experimental designs using either quantitative or qualitative methods to measure the specific long-term effects of particular Quranic verses on an individual's mental state.Downloads
