Efektivitas pengelolaan zakat dan wakaf dalam program pemberdayaan masyarakat

The management of zakat and waqf plays an important role in supporting community empowerment and improving social welfare. Along with the times, the management of zakat and waqf is not only consumptive in nature, but is also directed towards productive programs that are able to provide long-term benefits for the community. The management of zakat and waqf carried out professionally can also increase public trust in zakat management institutions. In addition, the optimization of zakat and waqf fund management is expected to be able to become a solution in reducing social inequality and increasing the community's economic independence sustainably.This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of zakat and waqf management in community empowerment programs at LAZ PERSADA Malang.This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and direct interviews with the institution.The results show that zakat management has been carried out systematically, including collection, calculation, and distribution to beneficiaries. In addition, productive waqf management through programs such as plantations, production businesses, and social services provides long-term benefits for the community. However, its effectiveness still faces challenges, particularly low public literacy regarding zakat and the tendency to distribute zakat independently. Therefore, it is necessary to improve public education, optimize digital technology, and strengthen human resources to enhance the effectiveness of zakat and waqf management in supporting community empowerment.
