Strategi crowdfunding dalam optimalisasi wakaf tunai di dompet dhuafa cabang malang

Abstract

Cash waqf represents an Islamic philanthropy instrument with significant potential to strengthen the Sharia economic system in Indonesia through the flexibility of digital fund mobilization. However, optimizing this potential at the regional level still faces sociological constraints in the form of low public literacy, where the community tends to maintain a traditional mindset that narrowly perceives waqf objects as limited to non-economic physical assets. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital crowdfunding strategies in optimizing cash waqf collection at Dompet Dhuafa Malang Branch, as well as to identify sociological challenges and risk management models in managing its productive assets within the real sector. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through direct observation of Dompet Dhuafa’s digital operational channels, in-depth interviews with the institutional management, and documentation from fund collection reports and related Islamic philanthropy literature. The results indicate that the crowdfunding strategy is effective in optimizing cash waqf through the implementation of an inclusive minimum nominal of Rp10,000, supported by the integration of modern management systems, e-wallets, auto-debit, and real-time report transparency. The transformation of cash into productive assets, such as the Halfway House (Rumah Singgah) and leased agricultural land in Pujon, is proven to deliver tangible socio-economic impacts for mustahik independence. This management successfully mitigates five primary risks through cross-bureaucratic poverty decile score verification and multi-layered monitoring while maintaining Sharia compliance,thereby serving as a sustainable model for other regions to maximize the role of productive zakat and waqf in enhancing social welfare.
