Urgensi sirah Nabawiyah dalam kehidupan santri

Abstract

Pesantren culture is an integral part of Islamic education, shaped through the internalization of values such as etiquette, spirituality, scholarship, and daily practices in the lives of santri. The development of digital technology, changes in the character of the younger generation, and the rapid flow of information pose challenges to maintaining the sustainability of this culture. This study aims to analyze the importance of the Sirah Nabawiyah as a conceptual foundation for preserving pesantren culture in the contemporary era. The study employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data were obtained from the Qur’an, hadith, Sirah Nabawiyah texts, as well as national and international scholarly articles published between 2019 and 2025. Analysis was conducted through thematic analysis and content analysis to develop a conceptual synthesis regarding the role of the Sirah Nabawiyah in the lives of pesantren students. The results of the study indicate that the Sirah Nabawiyah plays a role in strengthening pesantren culture through the internalization of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) exemplary character, the reinforcement of a culture of knowledge, the development of social character, and the moral resilience of pesantren students in the digital age. This study also indicates that previous research has primarily focused on the *Sirah Nabawiyah* as a medium for character education, while its role in preserving pesantren culture remains limited. Therefore, the *Sirah Nabawiyah* is relevant as a foundation of values to strengthen the sustainability of an adaptive pesantren culture without losing its Islamic identity.
