RELEVANSI KONSEP HIJAB DALAM PEMIKIRAN SYAIKH ALI ASH-SHOBUNI DI ERA KONTEMPORER
Abstract
The relevance of the concept of hijab in Sheikh Ali Ash-Shobuni's thought in the contemporary era reflects the dynamics between religious obligations and the evolving social context. In his work, "Tafsir Ayat al-Ahkam," Sheikh Ash-Shobuni emphasizes that hijab is not merely a covering but also a symbol of honor and identity for Muslim women. Although his approach is systematic and analytical, criticism arises regarding the flexibility of interpretation, which is seen as less responsive to issues of feminism and freedom of expression. In the era of globalization, hijab has transformed into a part of cultural identity and fashion, creating challenges for Muslim women in balancing religious obligations and social norms. This study aims to explore the relevance of Sheikh Ash-Shobuni's thought in understanding hijab as a tool for empowerment and identity, as well as providing guidance for Muslim women in facing social pressures that may conflict with their religious teachings. Thus, Sheikh Ali Ash-Shobuni's thought can significantly contribute to understanding hijab in a modern context.
Abstrak
Relevansi konsep hijab dalam pemikiran Syaikh Ali Ash-Shobuni di era kontemporer mencerminkan dinamika antara kewajiban agama dan konteks sosial yang terus berkembang. Dalam karyanya, "Tafsir Ayat al-Ahkam," Syaikh Ash-Shobuni menekankan bahwa hijab bukan hanya sekadar penutup, tetapi juga simbol kehormatan dan identitas perempuan Muslim. Meskipun pendekatannya sistematis dan analitis, kritik muncul terkait fleksibilitas interpretasi yang dianggap kurang responsif terhadap isu-isu feminisme dan kebebasan berekspresi. Di era globalisasi, hijab telah bertransformasi menjadi bagian dari identitas budaya dan mode, menciptakan tantangan bagi perempuan Muslim dalam menyeimbangkan kewajiban religius dan norma sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi relevansi pemikiran Syaikh Ash-Shobuni dalam memahami hijab sebagai alat pemberdayaan dan identitas, serta memberikan panduan bagi perempuan Muslim dalam menghadapi tekanan sosial yang mungkin bertentangan dengan ajaran agama mereka. Dengan demikian, pemikiran Syaikh Ali Ash-Shobuni dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam memahami hijab di konteks modern.
