Sertifikasi Guru Efektifitas Program Sertifikasi Guru Dalam Meningkatkan Profesionalisme Pendidik Dan Kesejahteraan
Abstract
The teacher certification program is a strategic policy implemented by the Indonesian government to improve the professionalism and welfare of teachers. Through certification, teachers are expected to possess pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies in accordance with national standards. In addition to serving as formal recognition of a teacher’s qualifications, the program also provides professional allowances to enhance motivation and teaching performance. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the teacher certification program in improving professionalism and welfare, as well as to identify the challenges of its implementation in the field. The findings show that certification has a positive impact on teachers’ performance and self-confidence, but its implementation is not yet fully effective and evenly distributed. Some of the challenges include delays in disbursing allowances, unequal access to training between regions, and a lack of post-certification professional development. Therefore, teacher certification must be complemented by a system of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that is integrated with regular evaluation and supervision. With stronger policies and more comprehensive implementation, teacher certification can become an effective instrument in enhancing the quality of national education in a sustainable manner.
