This article explores the crucial role of the philosophy of science in addressing modern human problems, such as disinformation and the climate crisis. Through an epistemological analysis, it discusses how science functions as a verification tool to distinguish fact from fiction, highlighting the importance of argument evaluation and the identification of logical weaknesses. Furthermore, the paper emphasizes the axiological aspect, arguing that science must be aligned with universal human values, underscoring the moral responsibility of scientists to direct discoveries for the greater good. Ultimately, the article concludes that effective problem-solving depends on a dialectical relationship between the function of science and wisdom in its application. To ensure that science fulfills this holistic role, it is recommended to strengthen interdisciplinary curricula in the Philosophy of Science in order to instill critical verification skills and moral awareness from an early stage. Furthermore, research institutions and the government need to adopt a rigorous axiological code of ethics, requiring scientists to consider the social and ethical impacts of their discoveries such as in AI and genetic engineering.
