Abstract

Academic life in the Drama, Dance, and Music Education (Sendratasik) Study Program demands high physical and mental endurance through continuous, intensive training. Unlike other disciplines, performing arts requirements extend beyond cognitive aspects, simultaneously involving emotional, physical, and psychological dimensions. Grueling rehearsal schedules, pressure for flawless performances, and minimal recovery time trigger risks of mental health issues, such as emotional burnout, performance anxiety, and psychological burdens from perfectionism. This article examines the reality of training pressure on Sendratasik students, identifies its impacts, and outlines practical strategies for psychological balance. Using a descriptive-analytical approach based on art psychology literature, this study asserts that mental health and artistic dedication mutually support each other rather than being mutually exclusive. Through self-awareness, openness, and proper self-regulation, performing arts students can undergo their creative process holistically excelling on stage while remaining psychologically healthy.
