Peran zakat produktif dalam pemberdayaan ekonomi umat: Studi kasus di lazisnu kota batu

Zakat constitutes one of the financial tools in Islam that contributes to enhancing the well-being of communities through the effective handling of zakat, infaq and charitable contributions. The administration of zakat is not merely for immediate consumption, but also has the potential to foster economic empowerment within communities via different social initiatives and support for entrepreneurship. The objective of this research is to explore how productive zakat influences economic empowerment within the community at LAZISNU PCNU Kota Batu. This study adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing field research methods. Techniques for gathering data included direct observation, conducting interviews, and reviewing documentation with the managers of LAZISNU Kota Batu. Findings from the research reveal that LAZISNU Kota Batu implements a variety of social initiatives such as supporting small and medium enterprises, providing scholarships, offering disaster aid, and facilitating donation collection at tourist sites. These initiatives reflect efforts aimed at strengthening the local economy through effective management of zakat, infaq and charitable donations.
